Big Hole National Battlefield

In 1846, the US and Great Britain ended their dispute over what was then known as Oregon country. Settlers began pouring into the newly created Oregon Territory and Washington with little regard for the Native American communities already living there. Deadly encounters ensued. Archeological researc
