A bone graft is a transplant of bone tissue.
What grafts are used for
- Repairing and rebuilding diseased bones in the hips, knees and spine, and sometimes other bones and joints.
- Replacing bone lost through some kinds of fractures (broken bones) or cancers.
Once the body accepts the graft, it gives a framework on which new, living bone can grow.
Where the bone comes from
