  • Prevalence rose with age for both men and women.
  • Men were more likely than women to have had hepatitis at 45–64 and 65 and older; at 18–44 the two were similar.

The estimates come from household interviews of the civilian, noninstitutionalized population in the National Health Interview Survey.
