Crew Flight Test NASA astronauts Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams launched aboard Boeing’s Starliner spacecraft on a United Launch Alliance Atlas V rocket from Space Launch Complex-41 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida at 10:52 a.m. EDT, Wednesday, June 5, 2024. The Starliner spacecraft is scheduled to dock to the space station at approximately 12:15 p.m. Thursday, June 6.

Derrol Nail (NASA Communications): This is a tradition. The whole idea here is to lose to the chief. Lauren Brennecke (Boeing Communications): Three, two, one, ignition…and liftoff of Starliner and Atlas V, carrying two American heroes drawing a line to the stars for all of us… Commander Butch Wilmore there calling down to Mission Control here in Houston that the spacecraft has begun rolling into the right attitude for ascent. The guidance, navigation, and control officer here in the room seeing good data on that.
