On Wednesday, acting NASA Administrator Sean Duffy joined President Trump at the White House for the signing of an Executive Order that reduces regulatory barriers on commercial space launches. This is a crucial step to ensure the United States remains a global leader in space!

Under President Trump's leadership, we will win the second space race. Artemis II’s Orion spacecraft completed a short but important journey from the Multipurpose Payload Facility to the Launch Abort System Facility at Kennedy Space Center in Florida. With fueling of the spacecraft complete, the spacecraft is one step closer to the launch pad as engineers prepare its launch abort system. Also this week, the Artemis II crew practiced operations at the Florida spaceport for different scenarios they could face if their launch occurs at night. NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope has now found strong evidence for a planet in the closest star system to us, which, if confirmed, would be the closest planet to Earth that orbits in the habitable zone of a Sun-like star.

Phase 2 of the LunaRecycle challenge just opened for American innovators to submit solutions for recycling common trash materials – like fabrics, plastics, foam, and metals – that can accumulate on long duration lunar missions. Through pairing industry innovation with NASA expertise, we will ensure American leadership on the Moon and beyond! And finally, NASA's RAVEN Project, a 1,000 pound class unmanned research aircraft, is performing wind tunnel tests on a scale model wing to generate flight dynamics data to help air taxi manufacturers build safer, more stable aircraft.
