Welcome to space to ground, I’m nicholas page. This week we preview a trio of spacewalks, the boeing starliner crew takes flight, and do you know how many people have visited the international space station? Stick around and find out. There are three spacewalks planned in the weeks ahead that will see to the repair and replacement of hardware as well as the search for microbes on the orbital outpost. Tracy dyson, mike barratt, and jeanette epps have conducted a series of spacesuit inspections ahead of these external excursions including suit power-up, checking life support systems, and jetpack battery replacement.

See it now on the nasa johnson youtube channel. Nasa astronauts butch wilmore and suni williams launched from kennedy space center aboard the boeing starliner spacecraft on wednesday june 5th.

The atlas five rocket carried the duo star sailors into low earth orbit for a day-long trip prior to docking to the station’s harmony node. This is the first time that three separate human-rated spacecraft have been docked to the international space station at the same time. (bell rings) "starliner calypso... arriving! " " I'm not sure we could have gotten a better welcome!

I mean, we had music! Matt was dancing!! It was great! " "we're just so happy as can be to be up in space. One, in starliner on an atlas v, and then here on the international space station, it doesn't get much better.

" the starliner crew is scheduled to return to earth in about one week. Do you know how many people have visited the international space station? The number may surprise you. Since november of the year two thousand the international space station has been continuously occupied. So how many people have visited during that time?

The answer: two hundred and eighty people representing twenty-three countries and five international partners. This includes 13 private visitors from seven countries. The united states comprises the majority with one hundred and sixty-seven people, followed by russia with sixty people. So, if you were born after november of two thousand, you have never lived on earth with the entirety of the human population. For more fun facts visit nasa.
