Introduction

What a page is, how changes work, who maintains them, and how supporting one works

About

Hub Nexus is a publishing platform where the people who write and improve a page get paid for it. Articles, video, audio and images — anyone can suggest a change, the page’s maintainers review it and vote, and every version is kept.

A page

One page about one thing. It has a title, an article, and a cover image or video. No two pages may share a title — one page per topic is the point, so a second page on the same subject is better spent improving the first.

Every accepted change makes a new version. Nothing is ever overwritten: you can read any earlier version, and see exactly what changed between any two.

Changes

You do not edit a page directly. You write a change, and ask for review. The page's maintainers vote on it, and once it is approved you publish.

On a public page you maintain alone there is no one else to review it, so Publish puts your change live at once — your own new page included. A change saves as you pause, so nothing has to be finished in one sitting, and while it is a draft only you can see it.

Maintainers

The people who may approve changes to a page. Its author starts as the only one and invites others; someone whose changes are accepted can be invited to join.

An author can hand a page to someone else, step back to being a contributor, or leave the page up for grabs for anyone to take on.

Publications

A publication gathers pages on one subject, in the order its curators choose, and is read page by page, like a book. Follow one and each new page comes to your inbox; support one and the money is shared between its curators and the people who maintain its pages.

The same page can be in as many publications as people find it useful in.

Following

Subscribe to a person to hear when they publish something new. Follow a page to hear when that page changes. Neither needs anyone's permission, and either can be stopped at any time.

Anything worth coming back to can be saved to your own list. What you save is private — nobody else sees it.

Support

Readers can support a page once, or every month. The money is shared between everyone who maintains it — which is why improving someone else's page is worth doing.

Payments go through Stripe. Hub Nexus never sees a card number.

Changed your mind? A one-time payment can be refunded in full for 14 days, and monthly support can be refunded for the days you have not used. The fee Stripe charges to process a payment is the only part that cannot come back. Ask on the payment itself, on the page's Support tab.
