Three wild horses trained by Treasure Valley 4-H groups will be available for adoption virtually on April 11, 2020. Get to know the horses here!

Treasure Valley based 4-H clubs have been training wild horses since February with the goal of finding them good, caring homes. The BLM Boise District is working closely with these 4-Clubs to offer a virtual adoption amid Coronavirus concerns and the cancellation of the Idaho Horse Expo.

If you are interested in adopting one these wild horses, please complete an adoption application at the link listed and email it to rtrevino@blm.gov or rkyle@blm.gov. Bids will be accepted on Saturday, April 11 from noon to 4:00pm via call or text to 208-830-4522 or 208-473-9868.

Meet Gilly from the Denim and Dust 4-H Club!

A note from the trainers: Gilly is a super sweet blue roan yearling mustang from the Fish Creek Herd Management Area in Nevada. Gilly knows how to lunge, pick up all his feet, walk through trail obstacles, and load in a horse trailer. He leads remarkably well and has been on walks around the pasture, down the road where he handled new sights, people and neighborhood dogs without a problem. Gilly is an all-around amazing little horse and he will make someone very happy!

Meet Ruby from the Oasis Riders 4-H Club!

A note from the trainers: Ruby is a wonderful yearling red roan mustang filly (looks bay before full body clip) from the Fish Creek Herd Management Area in Nevada. She stands tied, leads very well and has even been ponied. She walks over obstacles and stands to be bathed and clipped. She has been saddled and wears a blanket at night. Straight load two-horse trailers or slant-load trailers are no problem. She is very willing to please and loves long walks around the neighborhood. She is going to make someone a great partner and friend!

Meet Kodiak from the Purple Sage Riders 4-H Club!

A note from the trainers: Kodiak is a yearling gelding from the Fish Creek Nevada Herd Management Area. Kodiak is a very smart and energetic horse who will learn new things very quickly. He is willing to try anything and loaded into both the stock and two-horse trailer the first time he was asked! He easily leads through many different trail obstacles. Once we gained his trust and became a team, his training has come right along. His wonderful personality and stunning looks will make him an amazing companion for someone!
