He is standing at the center of the image, facing the viewer, and wearing a serious expression on his face. He holds his proper right foot slightly forward and his proper right arm is resting at his side. His proper left hand is resting on the surface of a table next to him. He is wearing a dark tone suit with a fully buttoned up jacket and matching trousers. The suit jacket has small lapels and there is a white pin attached to the proper left lapel. He is also wearing a white dress shirt with the points slightly turned outwards and a medium tone tie, arranged into a Windsor knot. His short hair has a severe center part and is smoothed down on either side and he has a small mustache. He is standing in the corner of a room in between an upholstered chair on the left and a small table on the right. The chair is upholstered with a floral fabric and the small table is covered with a floral patterned tablecloth accented with small white tassels. Resting on top of the small table, next to the man’s hand, is a dark tone derby hat. In the background, on the left, is a large window with closed curtains and a white, crocheted valance with tassels. On the right, is a plain wall. The photograph is adhered to a cream color cardboard mount that leaves a small frame along the right, left, and top edges. The bottom edge is wider with printed black ink text. The name of the photography studio, [Parsons,], is printed center left in larger stylized script. Printed center right in a smaller font is text that reads [69 Church St, / NEW HAVEN, CONN.]. The back of the cabinet card is plain white.
