WASHINGTON, D.C.—The U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree, an 80-foot-tall fir nicknamed Sugar Bear, has been slowly making its way across country since being harvested Oct. 23. This year’s tree came from Six Rivers National Forest, California.

Sugar Bear is traveling cross-country on the long trailer bed of a big semi-truck. The tree is wrapped in a protective “blanket” with windows so that curious visitors can take a look. So, before the tree arrives at the Capitol building in Washington, DC, Nov. 19, you might get a chance to see it. There are several stops remaining on its 3,500-mile journey.
