In 2022, 12.3% of U.S. children and adolescents aged 4–17 had practised yoga in the past 12 months, in a class or on their own, according to the National Health Interview Survey.

Percentage of children and adolescents aged 4–17 who practised yoga in the past 12 months, by sex and age group, 2022, with 95% confidence intervals. CDC, National Center for Health Statistics.
| Age | Boys | Girls | All |
|---|---|---|---|
| 4–11 | 10.4% | 19.3% | 14.7% |
| 12–17 | 5.3% | 13.3% | 9.2% |
- Younger children did more yoga than teenagers, among boys and girls alike.
- Boys were less likely than girls to have practised yoga in both age groups.
The figures come from household interviews with a sample of the civilian, non-institutionalised U.S. population; parents were asked whether their child had practised yoga, as part of a class or on their own, in the past 12 months. CDC points readers to its yoga card for young people for more.
