This week, NASA’s engineering fingerprints are on the field of the FIFA World Cup, the Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope arrived at Kennedy Space Center, and the ERNEST rover prototype successfully logged about 16 miles with minimal guidance in the California’s Colorado Desert.

What is said in the film

It's been a busy week across NASA — from the World Cup stage in Houston to the deserts of California and the cleanrooms at Kennedy. Here's a quick look at what's happening in your NASA minute. With FIFA World Cup play underway here in the U. S. , NASA's engineering fingerprints are on the field.

Our wind-tunnel and microgravity testing helped Adidas refine the flight of today's match balls, making every pass and shot a bit more predictable — at least for the balls. And back on Earth, we welcomed internet sensation Freddy to Johnson Space Center, bringing plenty of excitement to Houston. NASA's Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope arrived at Kennedy Space Center on June 21 to begin final prelaunch prep. Roman is targeting launch no earlier than August 30, running a full eight months ahead of schedule. Once in orbit, its expansive field of view will open up a view of billions of galaxies and empower new discoveries across the universe.

In California's Colorado Desert, the ERNEST rover prototype successfully logged about 16 miles with minimal guidance. The rover is helping NASA refine mobility and autonomy technologies to support future lunar service missions. From the next-generation of science missions to future lunar mobility, NASA is pushing forward on multiple fronts. If you're in Washington, D. C.

, be sure to stop by NASA's interactive exhibit at the Great American State Fair for a hands-on look at the future of exploration. And don't miss next week's Moon Base Program update, including a fireside chat with Administrator Isaacman and Program Manager Carlos Garcia Galan. We'll see you next time on the NASA minute.
