We are going back to the Moon, and this time, we're building to stay. From Moon base infrastructure to Artemis III preparations, NASA is continuing to build toward that exciting future. Here’s what’s new in your NASA Minute. Last Friday, NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman visited Blue Origin's Launch Complex 36 and met with the company's workforce and leadership to discuss the road ahead. NASA is taking an active role alongside its partners to overcome recent setbacks, restore capability, and continue America’s progress toward future lunar exploration missions.

Last week, NASA shared updates on the path to building America’s first Moon base, and announcing the first batch of equipment that will head to the Moon to help NASA test technologies and deliver the infrastructure needed for long-term surface operations. Together, these missions will lay the foundation for a sustained American presence on the Moon in the coming years. NASA is continuing to build our next step toward the Moon, as preparations continue for the Artemis III mission next year. This week, more segments for the Solid Rocket Boosters that will carry the Artemis III Space Launch System rocket into space began making their way across the country, pulled by Union Pacific’s new Commemorative Locomotive number 4547. And more Artemis III news is right around the corner.

Tune in on Tuesday, June 9th, when NASA will share updates on the mission, and announce the crew that will fly on Artemis III next year. And back here in Earth’s atmosphere, the future of supersonic flight took a major step forward. This week, NASA’s X-59 successfully completed its first supersonic flight, bringing the agency one step closer to demonstrating the quiet supersonic technology that could reshape air travel in the years ahead. The missions are underway. The hardware is being built.

And for the first time ever, a sustained human presence on the Moon is on the horizon. So get ready, stay tuned, and join us next week on the NASA Minute.
