NASA's SpaceX Crew-11 Broadcast Highlights

NASA’s SpaceX Crew-11 Launches to International Space Station. The SpaceX Dragon spacecraft carrying NASA astronauts Zena Cardman and Mike Fincke, JAXA (Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency) astronaut Kimiya Yui, and Roscosmos cosmonaut Oleg Platonov, started their approximately 15-hour journey to the International Space Station on NASA’s SpaceX Crew-11 mission. Liftoff occurred at 11:43 a.m. EDT from Launch Complex 39A in Florida.

What is said in the film

Derrol Nail, NASA Communications: We are seeing the astronauts that are flying today. Once again, getting suited up, this is a tradition that happens before crew can leave the suit-up room. Crew-11 walking the hallway, ready to do it again. And here they come, Crew-11, walking outside before launch. There s Zena giving a last wave with the window down.

Crew-11 on their way to Launch Pad 39A. Well, there s our commander and our pilot looking up at their rocket. And here comes Mike (Fincke) and Zena (Cardman) getting ready to get inside Dragon Endeavour. And here come our mission specialists right behind them, Oleg (Platonov) and Kimiya (Yui). And there go the seats, articulating upwards, putting the crew in launch position.

And the closeout crew closes the hatch to Dragon Endeavour. Mission Control: 3, 2, 1, Ignition, engine is full power and lift off! Go Falcon! Go NASA! Go Crew-11!
