Welcome to space to ground, I’m shaneequa vereen. We had a successful launch and docking of the latest crew to the international space station, while another crew prepares to come home. On sunday, march 3rd , nasa’s spacex crew-8 launched on a falcon 9 rocket, from the kennedy space center, in florida. After over a day aboard their spacex crew dragon spacecraft, the crew docked to the space station early tuesday morning, march 5th. The four-person crew joined 7 astronauts and cosmonauts on the station for a six-month mission to conduct research aboard the international space station.

The quartet included nasa astronauts matthew dominick, michael barratt, and jeanette epps, as well as roscosmos cosmonaut alexander grebenkin. The current spacex quartet, crew-7, will do what we call a direct handover with the new arrivals before departing the station next week. They will share all the knowledge they have learned and help prepare crew-8 for their stay. During their time on the station, nasa astronaut jasmin moghbeli, jaxa astornaut satoshi furukawa, esa astronaut andreas mogensen and roscosmos cosmonaut konstantin borisov, conducted science experiments and technology demostrations to benefit people on earth and prepare humans for future space missions. " the newest members of the nasa’s astrounaut corps, affectionatley known as the “flies” received their wings this week during a ceremony at nasa’s johnson space center. After completing more than two years of rigorous training, these new astronauts became eligible for spaceflight, including assignments to the international space station, future commercial destinations, missions to the moon, and eventually, missions to mars.
