One (1) miniature U.S. Army Combat Infantryman Badge (CIB) worn by General Colin L. Powell. General Powell’s first assignment after basic training at Fort Benning, Georgia, was as platoon leader in the 48th Infantry Regiment (Dragoons) in West Germany. This sterling silver rectangular badge has a medium infantry blue enamel face superimposed over an oval oak leaf wreath, the face itself of which is superimposed by a Model 1975 Springfield Arsenal Musket. The badge is fastened on the reverse by two backings, which are missing. When worn on the Army Service uniform, the CIB is attached at the proper left chest above the breast pocket and above the where the service ribbon bar would also be attached.
