On Aug. 28 at NASA's Johnson Space Center, the four crew members of Artemis II received the Congressional Space Medal of Honor from President Donald J. Trump for their historic, record-setting mission around the Moon. NASA astronauts Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, Christina Koch, and CSA (Canadian Space Agency) astronaut Jeremy Hansen completed a 10-day mission around the Moon on April 10, 2026. During a historic test flight as the first astronauts to fly aboard NASA’s Orion spacecraft, these crew members were the first to travel beyond the Moon in more than 50 years and traveled farther in space than humans have ever before. What is said in the film
Ladies and gentlemen, we are here with your Artemis II heroes. This is your National Aeronautics and Space Administration. This is your President, the President of the United States of America, Donald J. Trump. When Americans are determined, nothing can hold us back.
Proudly awarding the Congressional Space Medal of Honor to the remarkable crew of Artemis II. Artemis II blasted off from Kennedy, last April and flew more than 250,000 miles from Earth. Please join me in congratulating Commander Reid Wiseman Pilot Victor Glover Mission Specialist Christina Koch and Mission Specialist Jeremy Hanson Great people. Thank you. But these astronauts did not do it alone, I wanna salute all of the engineers and scientists, everyone at NASA who helped make this mission a great success.
Given the rapid growth of the Space Force, in a few moments I will sign an executive order to begin the process of creating a new national academy, it's called the U. S. Space Academy. Houston, this is station. We are ready for the event.
Jessica, Anil, Jack, to be with you is a great honor and great Americans, great patriots, brave people. I'm just so proud and excited that we are going to pave the way to our next journey to the moon. We are watching your plans right now come to fruition and grateful for your leadership during this time period. God bless you all, thank you very much. So Mr.
President, we are people of our word and so here we have your jacket today. It is great to be able to give this to you in front of everyone. Thank you sir. This is the golden age of America and this is a big part of it.
