Salt Lake City was both a way station and a destination for pioneers, and the history of three national historic trails meets there: the Mormon Pioneer, the Pony Express and the California trails. This National Park Service itinerary begins at This Is The Place Heritage Park, which gives an overview of all three at one stop, then becomes a walking tour of downtown focused on the Mormon Pioneer Trail.

  2. Emigration Square
  3. Pony Express Station Monument
  4. Brigham Young Monument
