Jack Barnitz, a retired Supervisory Natural Resource Specialist at the Bureau of Land Management New Mexico Las Cruces District Office, has been selected as a recipient of the Linda Seibert Career Achievement Award. The award was presented March 10 during the North American Wildlife and Natural Resources Conference.
The award recognizes a current or retired BLM employee who has significantly contributed to the conservation of fish, wildlife, and/or botanic resources over the course of their career.

He contributed to the success of numerous productive partnerships, diligently promoted special status species and wildlife habitat conservation, and mentored many employees to become valuable BLM team members. Barnitz was known for his engagement with his staff and commitment to helping them expand their knowledge; stay current on new wildlife research, management, and conservation; and advance in their careers.
