Contracting With CDC: Finding Opportunities on SAM.gov

SAM.gov

SAM.gov is the official site for registering to do business with the federal government, and for finding current contract opportunities across it, CDC's included. You can search thousands of active opportunities and sign up for alerts on new ones in your industry.

• Over $25,000: every open-market federal business opportunity appears on SAM.gov, the one-stop gateway.
• $15,000-25,000: CDC also posts open-market purchases in this range there, under FAR 5.101(a)(2).
• Limited competition: where a proposed action is justified in restricting competition under FAR 6.3, FAR 8.405-6 or FAR 16.505, the justification is posted there.
• Not listed: competitions under a GSA Schedule, an agency blanket purchase agreement (BPA) or an indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract — only existing holders of those contracts or agreements can compete.

1. On SAM.gov, choose "Search Contract Opportunities."
2. In Federal Organizations, start typing and pick "Centers for Disease Control and Prevention."
3. Add any other search filters you want.

Other Transaction agreements

Other Transaction (OT) agreements are binding legal instruments, separate from contracts under the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), grants and cooperative agreements. They can give CDC flexibility in infectious disease research, bio-surveillance, infectious disease modeling, and public health preparedness and response, and may be used when their benefits outweigh those of other funding tools, or when circumstances don't suit them. OT opportunities are also posted on SAM.gov.
