From airshows and eclipses to aircraft and astronauts... Here’s what’s new this week, in your NASA Minute! On Friday, Administrator Isaacman announced MAX POWER, America’s newest aerospace expo and airshow. Coming this November to NASA’s Kennedy Space Center, the multi-day event will give the public a front-row seat to the future of American air and space innovation. MAX POWER will feature NASA NASA aircraft, the U.

S. Air Force Thunderbirds, aerospace technology exhibits, Apollo and Artemis astronauts, tours, and displays highlighting the missions and technologies shaping the next era of exploration. This week’s solar eclipse gave NASA a rare opportunity to study the Sun in action. As the eclipse swept across the Northern Hemisphere, NASA teams in Iceland and Spain used a WB-57 aircraft and high-altitude balloon experiments to study the Sun’s outer atmosphere and how the eclipse affected Earth’s atmosphere. NASA’s newest airborne science platform has returned to Langley with a new look.

The Boeing 777 research aircraft’s fresh livery marks another step toward its future role supporting science missions across NASA’s expanding research fleet. NASA is celebrating astronaut Mike Fincke as he departs the agency after 30 years of service. Across four missions, Fincke completed nine spacewalks and spent 549 days in space, leaving behind a legacy that helped advance human spaceflight, strengthen crew safety and mentor the next generation of astronauts.
