NASA astronaut Tracy C. Dyson is returning home after a six-month mission aboard the International Space Station. While on orbit, Dyson conducted an array of experiments and technology demonstrations that contribute to advancements for humanity on Earth and the agency’s trajectory to the Moon and Mars. Here is a look at some of the science Dyson conducted during her mission: https://go.nasa.gov/4euV5kt

What is said in the film

I'm anticipating a lot of work. We now have engine ignition. I think the major role of our expedition is to continue doing the science and supporting the station. Now at full throttle, taking care of the space station to taking care of the science both inside and out. And so I'm looking forward to just getting the job done.

We have liftoff. Dyson, Novitsky, and Vasileuskaya finally underway on a two day journey to the International Space Station. During my previous missions we were assembling the space station. And using the space station as a laboratory was just in the infancy of our program. And so coming back now, and the assembly is complete and we are full throttle on utilization and science and technology and demonstrations.

It's really been a joy, having a science research background, to come here and do science. TC back with you. that was awesome. We got some happy kids on the ground. We're really enjoying it down here.

Thank you so much And Tracy on three, if you see storage side that face goes up. You want me to take the camera and give you a closer look inside? Ok, Tracy, thanks. That looks good. Great.

So, by ‘Why? ’ I suppose you mean why do this or why be here? And I think because we can and we should. How much ingenuity has gone into doing what we do? I mean, just the module that we're in alone is miraculous.

And all of the things that it takes to put this together with the whole complement of the International Space Station. Not to mention each rack and each individual scientific experiment that is going on just inside this module alone. And so when you think about, the potential and what we have accomplished so far and how we have accomplished it together, it's like, ‘Why not? ’
