The numbers
During July–December 2022, 41.5% of U.S. adults said they had used the internet in the past 12 months to communicate with a doctor or doctor's office.
The share fell steadily as places got more rural:

About the data
- Question: "During the past 12 months, have you used the Internet … to communicate with a doctor or doctor's office?" Adults who didn't use the internet at all counted as not having done so.
- Urbanization follows the 2013 National Center for Health Statistics classification of counties.
- Survey: household interviews of the civilian, noninstitutionalized population in the National Health Interview Survey; the internet questions were asked only in the last 6 months of 2022.
